An e-mail is a way of sending messages and data to other people by means of computers connected together with a network. The word “e-mail” actually stands for electronic mail. Telex is a system of sending messages which is also electronic in nature. But there are differences between telex and e-mail. Telex communication is terminal-to-terminal while e-mail communication is user-to-user via computers. In telex, messages destined to a number of users are sent to the same terminal from where it is distributed in a printed form by an operator. On the other hand, e-mail is delivered to individual electronic mail boxes.
I prefer e-mail because it provides us more advantages than telex. E-mail saves a lot of paper. It has less trouble. Also privacy is insured in e-mail. In e-mail, we can send different kinds of document. For all these reasons, I prefer e-mail. In spite of all these advantages, it is somewhat difficult to maintain e-mail in developing country like ours, because it costs us money. It needs a computer, a telephone line, network connection and so on to operate it. But since most of the people of our country are poor, they cannot afford all these valuable accessories of e-mail. For these reasons, it is somewhat difficult to maintain e-mail in our country.
